For 30 years, Chao Phra Ya Thai Restaurant has been proud to bring the authentic flavors of Thailand to the Herndon, Virginia community.
Our name comes from the Chao Phra Ya River, one of Thailand’s most important waterways and a river deeply connected to the country’s history, culture, and way of life. Flowing through Bangkok, the river has brought people and communities together for generations and has long been at the heart of Thai life, from commerce and transportation to celebrations and traditions.

Inspired by the culture and traditions behind our name, Chao Phra Ya was created to share a genuine taste of Thailand through authentic Thai cooking, warm hospitality, and dishes made to be enjoyed together. For three decades, we have had the privilege of welcoming guests from Herndon and the surrounding Northern Virginia community to our table and sharing a little piece of Thailand through every meal.
